Yesterday, September 4th, Kumbo was on fire, as thousands of locals from the community came out to protest over a 16 year old boy who got shot dead by the police. They shot him at Kifem, a locality in Bui Division about 40kms from Kumbo(capital of Bui Division), took his corpse to an unknown location and confiscated it.

The protesters at Kumbo got joined by hundreds of others from Kifem. A while later the protesters hoisted the ‘flag’ of Southern Cameroon otherwise known as ‘Ambazonia.’ Watch video below, as curated by Randze Jude(@randzejude on Twitter).

Two of the protesters got shot. One of them is reported dead, and the other is recovering in the hospital.
The Ministry of defense issued a press release giving their version of events that happened at Kifem, stating that the 16 year old boy was shot by the military in self defense, because he was armed. Read statement below:
Meanwhile, Randze Jude, who was corresponding with locals in Kumbo, reported that the boy was shot in his home, in a very non-violent atmosphere.
