Real Madrid win 15th Champions League title

Spanish giants Real Madrid have lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy for the 15th time, after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the 2024 final at the Wembley stadium.

Real came from a slow start in a Dortmund-dominated first half, to take full control of the game after Dani Carvajal broke the silence in the 74th minute.

The Black and Yellows had missed several clear-cut opportunities that would have given them the lead in the first half. They were penalized for their poor finishing, with a second goal from Vinicius Junior which sealed the lead for the Whites in the 83rd minute.

Thibaut Courtois made a winning return for Real, after missing almost the entire season due to a knee injury.

The 2023-2024 season has been a historic one for Real Madrid as the Los Blancos went unbeaten throughout the Champions League campaign for the first time.
