Officials of Les Brasseries du Cameroon (SABC) and Groupement des Industries Meunières du Cameroun (GIMC), put pen to paper on Friday 26 November, making a financial contribution to support recovery efforts in the devastated Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon.
Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, chaired the event in Yaounde, during which the brewery company donated 1 Billion FCFA and GIMC 200 million FCFA.
The Heads of the two enterprises said they were simply fulfilling their promise to the Prime Minister during his visit to Douala in April. “This ceremony is just to realize the promise that we made to the Prime Minister when he came to Douala” Celestin Tawamba, GIMC President.
Emmanuel Detailly, SABC Director-General added that the idea was to be part of the solution for a return of peace in the Northwest and Southwest regions, “the idea is to help the Northwest and Southwest to be part of the Cameroon development for 2035” Emmanuel Detailly said.
The funds provided are expected to be used for the reconstruction of schools, health centers, and the revival of the Agricultural sector in the two regions.
