Renowned Rights Lawyer, Barrister Edward Ewule Lyonga, bags another Recognition In Bamenda!

In the presence of a mammoth crowd that thronged the Bamenda Upstation ceremonial ground, Barrister Ewule Lyonga was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for Nation Builders as Human Rights Lawyer of the year 2024. The crowd pulling event took place on Saturday, 8 June, 2024 at the prestigious Jua Hotel in the Station Hill in Bamenda.

The award committee indicated that his ” recognition came after a sample survey of public opinion, voting and a final decision by a 25 man jury, comprising of lawyers, teachers, journalists, and members of the civil society.”

They further indicated that ” the award comes within a period of time when Barrister Edward Ewule, has contributed enormously to nation building.”

In receiving the award, the learned luminary dedicated it to the hundreds of clients whom he puts his life on the line to defend. He further added that the recognition will spur him to do even more in his human rights exploits within and out of Cameroon.

This award comes to add to a total of five recognitions received over the past four years for his human rights exploits.

Other distinguished awards include the Canadian Rights Defender of the year 2023, PCC Human Rights Lawyer of the Year 2022, PANAFES rights Defender of the Year 2022, and the Dreams Network Lawyer of the year 2021.

Barrister Ewule Lyonga is a PhD fellow in the university of Buea and a renowned Rights Defender in and out of Cameroon.

His rich track records include the advocacy for killed journalist, Samuel Wazizi, successful release of, Nkongso Antoinette, the former girlfriend of Ex Ambazonia fighter, No Pity, amongst others.

He runs the Legend Law Offices located in Bonduma, Buea. He also runs the Legend Humanitarian Foundation, where he provides free legal services to the underprivileged, as well as other humanitarian activities.
