Sacred Heart College authorities refuse to let students go home despite fire outbreak in dormitory

School authorities of Catholic boarding school Sacred Heart College Mankon, North West region of Cameroon have told parents their children will not return home despite a fire attack by unknown individuals at the school dormitory.
The dormitory of Sacred Heart College was consumed by fire on Monday night, forcing parents to rush to the school campus to take their children back home.
However school authorities this Tuesday morning have assured the frightened parents that despite the fire attack, the school is capable of handling the safety and security of their students, and that there is no need for the parents to take them back home.
Monday’s fire attack at Sacred Heart College Mankon left no civilian casualties, but the school recorded some severe material damages, as dormitory beds, mattresses, student trunks, food stuffs and other items, were reduced to ashes.
The incident adds to the consistent outbreak of fire in schools in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, by unidentified individuals with anti-back to school objectives.
Prior to the fire incident at Sacred Heart College Mankon on Monday night, Government Bilingual High School Kossala Kumba, South West region, suffered the same fate over the week end when unidentified individuals set the school building ablaze.
