The Ministries of Higher Education (MINESUP) and Public Service and Administrative Reforms (MINFOPRA), have jointly announced that there will no longer be direct recruitment of secondary school teachers into the public service.
The changes were officially agreed upon after a meeting held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaounde on May 11, under the instructions of the Head of State Paul Biya.
It was decided that the responsibility of training in school and that of integration into the public service, would be separate from 2023 onwards.
This means that the Ministry of Higher Education will continue to organize the entrance exams into ENS and ENSET, meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Service will organize the exams for the recruitment of graduates of the said institutions into the public service.
It was pointed out that this will only happen with respect to the needs expressed by the Ministry of Secondary Education, as well as the availability of finances.
