TECNO MOBILE, a corporate citizen expert in the innovation of dual SIM smartphones, has distinguished itself from competing brands by understanding the African need, and by supporting and fulfilling the desire of Cameroonians.
Recognized mainly in Cameroon and in the world in general as a telephone company, TECNO has won the sympathy of its consumers by going beyond its primary mission which is the sale of smartphones.
In 2020, following the health crisis, TECNO developed a new CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) mission called TECNO CARE.
The goal of TECNO CARE is to help its community which in recent years has contributed enormously to the growth of the company. Giving back, especially at this time when we are all facing a global pandemic, is a way to show their gratitude and also to show that we are all in this battle together.
Since its creation, activities such as the donation of protective kits in hospitals, TECNO shops and orphanages, have been the main actions that have been carried out. Considering that this pandemic has strongly affected the economy and with its community at heart, another campaign was launched on November 19, 2020 under the theme “Back to school with TECNO”, in commemoration of the 2020-2021 academic year.
“Back to school with TECNO” was organized in six universities in the national territory, in which students received research subjects around the epidemic of corona virus to do a one-week research on the theme “The impact of the CORONA virus in all aspects of society” and submit.
The universities concerned are: the University of Ngoundere, the University of Dschang, the University of Yaoundé II, the University of Douala, the Catholic University of Yaoundé and the Catholic University of Douala.
At the end of the writing and proofreading of the research, 3 winners came out from each of the universities and an award ceremony was organized to applaud these students for their hard work.
The students who emerged the best from this campaign are Epoh Ngoume Serge Fabrice from the University of Douala, Zimra Moassow Ondoua Beni from the University of Ngoundere, Dombou Tchombou Ferdinand from the University of Dschang, Pangue kemetia Aymar from the University Catholic of Douala, Maeffo Lionel from the University of Yaoundé II, Abessolo Leslie from the University etc.
Each of these students was rewarded with academic support and tuition fees to accompany them in this academic year. The world is in the grip of a global pandemic which has dramatically affected all aspects of life. In this context, it is normal for companies to come together at this time of crisis to help the community fight together against this virus. This is why, during the award ceremony, TECNO mobile deemed it necessary to invite a member of the medical staff, Dr Douane Chungong, who sensitized students to the coronavirus and encouraged everyone to continue to take the necessary measures to combat the spread of the virus.
Face masks and hand sanitizers were also distributed.
