Limbe side Victoria United and Aigle Royal of Moungo will play in the upcoming season of the Elite Two Championship, after getting the top two spots of the 2022 National Interpools.
Opopo defeated NGV Football Academy 2-1 in the first semi-final on Thursday, while Aigle Royal of Moungo eliminated Hilltop Strikers 2-0 to complete the pair for the final scheduled for Saturday, 24 September.
One People One Power (Opopo’s) qualification came after the squad thrilled a home crowd of over 6,000 supporters, who turned out massively at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium to watch the semi-final.
Desire Kanou maintained his second place at the top of the goal chart with five goals, netting alongside Ashu Cerezo to hand Victoria United victory on Thursday. Nkenlifack Ghislain Victor (NGV) Football Academy struggled to stage a comeback with a goal from Wilfried Nana, top scorer (six goals), but did not succeed.
The West Region outfit and Hilltop Strikers of Bamenda will have to wait again for next season.
