WCQ: Indomitable Lions in Angola ahead of match against Palancas Negras

The Cameroon national football team arrived in Luanda on Sunday evening, for the day 4 World Cup qualifier against Angola on Tuesday, June 11.

The CAMAIR-CO flight that took off from the Nsimalen International Airport in Yaounde, was financed by FECAFOOT, the federation pointed out. The squabbles between the football federation and the Sports Ministry are far from over, as the state-appointed staff continues to be present, while FECAFOOT has its staff actively involved as well.

The two sparring coaching groups of the national team all travelled to Luanda on Sunday.

Cameroon’s 4-1 victory against Cape Verde in head coach Marc Brys’ first outing, looked like it could reconcile the two parties, but the disagreement continues.

The risk of being sanctioned by FIFA looms. However, Cameroon lead group D of the World Cup qualifiers with seven points and are among the favourites to qualify for the Mexico-US-Canada World Cup in 2026 if the national team is not suspended.
