The Divisional Officer of Ekondo Titi, Aboloa Timothee, killed by alleged separatists on March 2, was laid to rest on Saturday, 7 May.
During the funeral programme of the deceased administrator which started on Friday, President Paul Biya’s representative Atanga Nji, expressed regret for the loss and reiterated the State’s determination to track down terrorists committing atrocities in the two English-speaking Regions of Cameroon.
As the MINAT boss extended the Head of State’s condolences, he said “we are going to continue to manage this situation following the directives of the Head of State, while telling those who are manipulated, those who are in the bush, to lay down arms because the Head of State has accorded to them an honourable exit from the situation they find themselves in” said Atanga Nji, Minister of Territorial Administration.
Aboloa Timothee died over two months ago, alongside 6 others, following an explosive attack. The DO and his collaborators were out on a “meet the people tour” when the incident happened.
Dead at the age of 44 after 15 years of service to the State, the Divisional Officer leaves behind a widow and three children.
