World Association of Newspaper/News Publishers demands the release of jailed Anglophone Journalists.

Members of the Board of World Association of Newspaper Publishers and News Publishers, known in its acronym as WAN-IFRA, have called for the unconditional release of over half a dozen Cameroonian Journalists arrested on the wake of crisis plaguing the two English speaking regions of Cameroon CNA report.
They made the call during a board meeting held in Durban South Africa recently, in which members renewed global solidarity and condemned government’s unlawful detention of pressmen.
WAN-IFRA denounced systematic campaign by the Cameroon government to intimidate and attack the press as a means of silencing opposing and marginalized voices.
As one of the recommendations adopted at the end of the meeting, Members of the Board of World Association of Newspaper Publishers and News Publishers? have also requested the international community to mount pressure on the Cameroon government to free all those arrested and Permit the Committee to protect journalists enter Cameroon to investigate the issue.
