Yango, an international information service for ordering rides online, announces yesterday the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Bee Group, Cameroonian transportation company.
The purpose of the MOU is to cooperate in building an innovative and advanced ride-hailing service for the population of Cameroon, creating a comfortable urban environment to improve quality of life in Cameroon.
Yango launched the new Moto tariff in Douala on 14th of July. Cameroon hence became the first market worldwide where Yango launched a motorbike ride ordering service. The new tariff was rolled out through the partnership with Bee Group, which has one of the largest motorbike fleets in Douala, and several other big and reliable partners.
Didier Theze, Country Manager of Yango in Cameroon: “Our partners are very important to us, because they help us contribute to the positive transformation of the transport sector in the country. And we see that everyone benefits from this partnership.
Since January, we have increased the number of trips by 5 times, and the number of our partner drivers has increased by 4 times. I am very glad that today we signed this agreement with Bee, and I hope that by combining efforts and expertise we will achieve even more brilliant results.” Patrick Timani CEO & Co-Founder at BEE Group: “Motorbike is one of the most popular modes of transport in Cameroon and other francophonecophone countries, but most rides are informal. We see that we can make a big change introducing a new, modern service which would make bike rides convenient and comfortable. We are happy to partner with Yango, an international service to give all Cameroonians an opportunity to enjoy fast and safe motorbike rides.”
