A commercial complex named ‘Ongola Market’, has been established at the heart of Yaounde, to reduce the level of urban disorder at the Avenue Kennedy market center of the capital city.
The commercial structure which costs about 2.5 billion FCFA with a capacity of over 200 shops, will be of importance for buyers and sellers who are having their last moments at the Avenue Kennedy.
“This commercial space at the center of the city, of Yaounde comprises a huge number of commodities and nature to uplift the capacity of the good functioning of the economy of the city of Yaounde” – Georges Elang Obam, Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development.
The Mayor of the Urban area also indicated the importance of the market establishment “The ‘Ongola Market’ will enable the community of Yaounde to have extra commercial space for those who practice general commerce as well as traders at the Avenue Kennedy and surrounding streets” Luc Messi Atangana – Mayor, Yaounde.
Avenue Kennedy is one of the busiest places in Yaounde and this comes to reduce congestion and urban disorder that existed there and had become worrying.
