In recent years, the Internet has been rife with tales about Bitcoin creating a new breed of crypto-millionaires. Binance-backed cryptocurrency exchange, Yellow Card, is well on its way to creating even more.
After recently expanding into Cameroon, Nigeria-based cryptocurrency startup, Yellow Card, is running two competitions that will provide an opportunity for two lucky Cameroonian Yellow Card traders to win up to FCFA 100,000 ($178) in Bitcoin.
Speaking on the launch of these twin competitions dubbed “Cameroon Referral and Trading Competition,” Yellow Card co-founder and CEO, Chris Maurice, said the main reason behind both competitions is to “motivate our customers and also increase the rate of awareness in Cameroon about the importance of securing a digital asset.”
The referral competition lets you earn a bonus for each friend (referral) who signs up to Yellow Card using your personal signup link. This competition is good for those who are persuasive enough to convince their friends, family, and network about creating a trading account on Yellow Card.
The first and second winners who have referred the highest volume will receive 100,000 FCFA worth of BTC each. The third and fourth winners that follow will receive 75,000 FCFA worth of BTC each. Winners will receive their rewards directly in their Yellow Card accounts.
Participants in the referral competition also gain 20% of the trading fee their referrals bring to the Yellow Card platform each time they make a transaction.
If you’re good at trading cryptocurrency, the trading competition allows you to make more money by making the right trading moves. The top two traders with the highest trading volumes on their accounts will win 100,000 FCFA in Bitcoin each.
How to Join the Yellow Card Competition
While the competition is not limited only to Cameroonians, participants need to be resident in Cameroon and must be 18 years or older. To participate, however, you must register for a Yellow Card account here, if you don’t have one already.
The Cameroon Referral and Trading Competition will last for 3 weeks, starting from August 6 to 27, 2021.
Selecting & Announcing the Winners
Yellow Card will select four winners who must have met the eligibility requirements and who are the top four in terms of referral or trade volume within the competition period. Yellow Card will contact the winners within 5 business days after the competition period, announcing its winners across any of Yellow Card’s social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Yellow Card will select the winners based on the competition rules which are stated in detail in the Terms and Conditions of the competition.
This is the first time Yellow Card is bringing to play such a competition to Cameroonians. However, it’s not the first time the Nigeria-based cryptocurrency exchange is launching such a competition in Africa.
“We currently have similar competitions live in South Africa, Ghana and Uganda,” Maurice said.
